ผมชอบอ่านสามก๊กเป็นชีวิตจิตใจ เจอหนังสือเกี่ยวกับสามก๊กที่ไหนไม่ได้ เป็นต้องซื้อทุกเล่ม แต่อ่านไม่จบสักครั้ง ไม่ได้กลัวจะไม่มีคนคบหรอกครับ แต่เป็นเพราะอะไรก็ไม่รู้เหมือนกัน
     แต่ตอนหนึ่งที่ผมไม่มีวันลืม ซึ่งถือเป็นตอนสำคัญที่สุดของสามก๊กก็ว่าได้ นั่นคือ ตอนโจโฉแตกทัพเรือ
     เชื่อว่าหลายคนที่ได้อ่านสามก๊กนั้นก็จะจำตอนนี้ได้ดีที่สุด เพราะเป็นตอนที่สนุกที่สุด มีตัวละครหลากหลายที่สุด และชิงไหวชิงพริบและใช้กลยุทธ์มากที่สุดในสามก๊ก
     ตอนที่อ่านในวัยเด็ก หรือกระทั่งในวัยทำงานช่วงต้นๆ นั้น ก็ยังไม่ได้ติดตามอะไรลึกซึ้งมากนัก ออกจะอ่านเอามันเสียมากกว่า และแม้จะมีการใช้กลยุทธ์มาก แต่ดูเหมือนว่ากลยุทธ์บางอย่างนั้น ดูจะไม่สมจริงเอาเสียเลย ยกตัวอย่างเช่น โจโฉถูกจิวยี่หลอกผ่านเจียวก้านซ้ำซาก ซึ่งดูท่าว่าไม่น่าจะเป็นไปได้ เพราะโจโฉออกจะฉลาดและขี้ระแวงปานนั้น ไม่น่าจะเป็นไปได้
     สามก๊กตอนโจโฉแตกทัพเรือฉบับล่าสุดบนจอภาพยนตร์จึงตัดเรื่องที่ไม่สมเหตุสมผลไปเสีย
     จอห์น วู ผู้กำกับซึ่งน่าจะเป็นแฟนของจิวยี่ตัวยง เพราะสามก๊ก ตอนโจโฉแตกทัพเรือนั้น พระเอกไม่ใช่ขงเบ้ง แต่เป็นจิวยี่ต่างหาก แต่ก็ช่างเถอะ บทความชิ้นนี้ไม่ได้เขียนถึงตอนโจโฉแตกทัพเรือแต่อย่างใด
     หลังจากชมภาพยนตร์และกลับไปอ่านสามก๊กตอนโจโฉแตกทัพเรืออีกครั้ง ผมเห็นประเด็นใหม่ที่น่าสนใจ
     สามก๊กนั้นเป็นเรื่องของผู้ยิ่งใหญ่สามคน ซึ่งสร้างตัวจากสามัญชนและไต่เต้าจนสู่ฮ่องเต้ได้ในที่สุด
     นั่นคือ เรื่องของโจโฉ เล่าปี่ และซุนกวน
     ในบรรดาผู้สร้างตัวที่น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจที่สุด คือ เล่าปี่
เล่าปี่เป็นคนที่สร้างตัวเองจากคนที่ไม่มีอะไรเลย
ฝรั่งจะเรียกว่า Create Something out of Nothing
หรือที่เราเรียกจีนโพ้นทะเลที่สร้างธุรกิจยิ่งใหญ่ว่ามีแค่เสื่อผืนหมอนใบเท่านั้น
คนที่สร้างตัวจากมือเปล่าจนกลายเป็นหนึ่งในสามฮ่องเต้นั้น ไม่เก่งก็ไม่รู้จะว่ายังไงแล้ว
ที่สำคัญก็คือ เล่าปี่ไม่ใช่คนที่ฉลาดปราดเปรื่อง ไม่ว่าจะเชิงบุ๋นหรือเชิงบู๊
รบก็รบไม่เก่ง
วางแผนก็ไม่ใช่จุดแข็ง
             เช่นนั้นแล้ว เล่าปี่ขึ้นเป็นใหญ่ได้อย่างไร

     สิ่งที่เล่าปี่มีก็คือ “ภาพลักษณ์ที่ดี” และความเป็นเชื้อพระวงศ์ราชวงศ์ฮั่น ที่แม้จะห่างจากพระเจ้าเหี้ยนเต้เหลือเกิน แต่เล่าปี่ก็รู้จักใช้ให้เป็นประโยชน์ได้

     ทว่าไม่ใช่อยู่ดีๆ จะไปประกาศว่าตนเป็นเชื้อพระวงศ์ ถ้าไม่มีคนยอมรับล่ะ ไม่หน้าม้านหรือ

     คนเรานั้นหากจะคิดทำการใหญ่ได้ต้อง “สะสมคนเก่ง”

     การที่เล่าปี่ซึ่งเป็นลูกคนทอเสื่อขาย เป็นพี่น้องร่วมสาบานกับกวนอู เตียวหุย โดยที่มีปณิธานตรงกัน ถือว่าเป็นการมองคนขาด เพราะในเวลานั้นทั้งกวนอู เตียวหุย ก็ยังไม่ได้สร้างวีรกรรมลือลั่นแต่อย่างใด

     เล่าปี่คงมีลักษณะดึงดูดบางประการ ถึงทำให้จูล่งมาเป็นทหารเอกคู่ใจ

     จุดเด่นของเล่าปี่ก็คือ เป็นคนมีภาพลักษณ์

     เล่าปี่ให้ความสำคัญกับเรื่องนี้มาก ความเป็นคนโอบอ้อมอารี มีเมตตา และเป็นเชื้อพระวงศ์ (แม้จะปลายแถวก็ตามที) ได้กลายเป็น Positioning ที่แข็งแกร่ง ที่ยากจะหาใครเทียมทานในช่วงเวลานั้น

     แม้เล่าปี่จะมีเชื้อพระวงศ์ แต่ในสภาพความเป็นจริงแล้ว เขาคือ ลูกชาวบ้านที่เรียนหนังสือไม่เก่ง แต่คิดการใหญ่

     ทว่าเล่าปี่สามารถแปลงจุดอ่อนให้เป็นจุดแข็งได้

     การที่เขามาจากลูกชาวบ้านนั้น ทำให้เขารู้ว่า ชาวบ้านต้องการผู้ปกครองแบบไหน   เขาจะเป็นผู้ปกครองในฝันของชาวบ้าน

     Positioning เช่นนี้ได้ขจรขจายไปแบบปากต่อปาก ไม่เพียงชาวบ้านจะรัก บรรดาผู้มีฝีมือต่างเข้าด้วยกับเล่าปี่ไม่น้อย

     และเป็นเหตุให้ได้ขงเบ้งมาเป็นกุนซือในเวลาต่อมา เล่าปี่นั้น ก่อนหน้าจะได้ขงเบ้งเป็นกุนซือ ก็เป็นแค่เจ้าเมืองเล็กๆ เท่านั้น และถึงแม้จะได้มังกรซ่อนกายเป็นกุนซือแล้วก็ตาม แต่เล่าปี่ในเวลานั้นก็ยังไปไม่ถึงไหน แต่ทว่าเขาเริ่มคิดการใหญ่แล้ว
     แม้จะเป็นเจ้าเมืองเล็กๆ แต่โจโฉกลับหวาดเกรงเล่าปี่มากที่สุด

     เพราะมองว่าคนอย่างเล่าปี่นั้นคิดการใหญ่ สะสมคนดีมีฝีมือ

     อาจจะเป็นภัยต่อตนในภายภาคหน้าได้ จึงได้ยกทัพนับล้านหวังจะขยี้เล่าปี่ให้แหลกเป็นจุณ จากนั้นก็ข้ามไปจัดการซุนกวนแห่งกังตั๋งที่เป็นหอกข้างแคร่เสียด้วยเลย
     เล่าปี่ซึ่งมีกองทัพเพียงหยิบมือเดียว แม้จะมีขุนพลเอกข้างกาย เช่น กวนอู เตียวหุย จูล่ง และได้สุดยอดกุนซืออย่างขงเบ้งมาก็ตาม จอมคนเช่นเล่าปี่ก็ย่อมต้องหวั่นไหวไม่ใช่น้อย เพราะการเผชิญทัพนับล้านของโจโฉเช่นนี้ มีแต่แพ้กับแพ้เท่านั้น
     ศึกครั้งนี้จึงเป็นวิกฤตที่สุดในชีวิตการตั้งตัวของเล่าปี่ โชคดีที่เล่าปี่มีขงเบ้ง
     ขงเบ้งเป็นนักยุทธศาสตร์ เขารู้ว่าการเอาชนะโจโฉนั้นไม่สามารถทำได้ด้วยกองทัพเล่าปี่ ภายใต้วิกฤตครั้งใหญ่ที่สุดเช่นนี้ มีแต่ใช้สติปัญญาเข้าแก้ไขเท่านั้น จึงจะเอาตัวรอดได้
